This assignment will give you an opportunity to analyze and critique the neural network (or genetic algorithm) technology used in a commercial software or hardware application. It is very important to remember that you are evaluating the AI technology not the quality of the application.

You will need to locate a commercial product purports to contain the application of some neural network technology. You may need to spend some time looking on the Internet for information on the commercial product and its use of AI. The focus of your investigation needs to be on answering the following questions:

• How are neural networks used in the product?
• What specific neural network techniques are used?
• What tools are used to implement the neural network and include it in the product?
• What are the strengths and weaknesses of the neural network based on the overall product performance?
• What other AI techniques are used in the application?  

You are to present your findings in a 3 to 5 page memo. Feel free to organize your information any way you wish. You must make a reasonable effort to answer all 5 questions to receive full credit. This memo must be turned in no later than 6-26-13.
