Special Note:

The use of this program is pretty simple. Use your mouse to hit one of the four buttons at the bottom of the screen.

"Information" Button: Provides brief information about digital signal processing.

"Toggle Fourier Transform Type" Button: Provides brief information about digital signal processing. Warning! The Discrete Fourier Transform is very very slow! Note the tremendous difference in speed between this setting and the Fast Fourier Transform.

"Play Music" Button: Plays a brief bit of music, then displays the frequency spectrum of the sample.

"Digital Filter / Replay Music" This button filters the music sample (low pass filter set to 10% of max frequency), then replays and graphs the frequency spectrum.

Troubleshooting:

This application requires the use of the Java 1.3 plug-in available from Sun Microsystems. The application may also require that Java security settings are reset within your system’s registry. This is NOT recommended for most viewers. The Java 1.3 plug-in is currently available for Windows, Sun Operating Systems and for Linux systems

The system can be a little erratic. This program requires a large memory buffer within your browser and operating system. It works best if other non-essential programs are shut down. Please be patient.
