Introduction

It often happens that a coil being made for a particular Mill Order is smaller then permitted by the original order parameters. If the Mill Order is a Variable Width order, there is still a good chance that this coil could be accepted by the customer. To find out how to proceed on making the coil, and what the new target size parameters are, the Variable Width Order calculation takes place. Along with the main desired size information, Variable Width Orders have additional parameters that specify the Slit Width and minimum and maximum number of coils in a package. Based on these values, the new target size of the coil is determined. This application allows a user to perform this calculation.
