CIS 525
Assignment 2
Fall 2001
This assignment
will give you an opportunity to use Javascript to build an interactive web
application. You may work with a partner if the project is complex enough. If
you work with a partner, turn in one write-up with both names and be sure to
describe who did which parts of the project.
The project you
select should involve some type of self-contained calculation application (e.g.
a COCOMO calculator) or data collection tool. Your application will need to
have some type of data input form with at least one user activated control. You
are required to do verification of all input data. You may have a separate
results page if you wish. You might consider implementing at one of the Tiny
Tools on Pressman's wish list. You may not choose an application that is
already posted on the CIS web site.
In addition to completing an application of
your own, you are expected to evaluate the applications completed by 3 of your
classmates. You must also have at least 3 of your classmates evaluate your
application for usability and accessibility. The form for conducting this
evaluation is available on the CIS 525 course page.
I would like to post a copy of your working
application on the CIS 525 course page. Please e-mail me a zipped copy of your
application and any related media files or give me a floppy diskette containing
your application. All web references should be written assuming that all files
required by your application reside in the same web directory. Please remember
Unix file names are case sensitive.
Your write-up should include relevant
output from your application, commented source listings of the html and
Javascript used to implement the web pages, completed evaluation forms
filled-out by 3 of your classmates, and a 2-3 page memo describing the design
and functionality of your application.
