CIS 375 Assignment 2

For your next assignment you will have an opportunity to begin work on a portion of your final project. The deliverable for this assignment is the specification document for your project.

You need to select a project to work on and have it approved by me. You will also need to identify 1 to 3 people to work with (no lone programmers). You will need to interview your client to determine his or her vision of the requirements for the project. As a team, you then need to determine the project requirements and develop a complete set of specifications for the project. Since you will be working with at least one partner, I will need a written statement from each of you describing who did which portions of the assignment.

Your final project will need to include both a carefully designed user interface and a on-line help system. Until we cover user-interface design in class, it is unlikely that your user-interface specification will be complete. You will be allowed to change your specifications as your project evolves and you learn more about software engineering.

You are not required to do any programming of this system at this point in time. Your specification document is due one week from next Tuesday. Do not put off starting it till the last minute.
